WindowInfo

Description:

baWindowInfo returns information about a window.

Platforms:

Windows and Macintosh

Usage:

Result = baWindowInfo( WindowHandle , InfoType )

Arguments:

Integer, string
WindowHandle is the handle of the window.
InfoType is the type of information required. Can be one of the following:

"title" 

the caption of the window Windows Macintosh

"class" 

the class name of the window Windows Macintosh

"state" 

the present state of the window. Windows
Return can be:

"hidden"

the window is hidden

"min"

minimised

"max"

maximised

"normal"

 normal state

"text" 

the window's text Windows

"left" 

the left edge of the window in pixels Windows

"right" 

the right edge Windows

"top" 

the top edge of the window in pixels Windows

"bottom" 

the bottom edge Windows

"height" 

the height of the window Windows

"width" 

the width of the window Windows

"rel left" 

the left edge of the window in relation to it's parent Windows

"rel top" 

the top edge of the window in relation to it's parent Windows

"client height" 

the height of the client area of the window Windows

"client width" 

 the width of the client area of the window Windows

"app" 

the path to the application that owns the window Windows Macintosh

Returns:

String.
Returns the information requested, or "Invalid" if the window doesn't exist

Examples:

Director:
State = baWindowInfo( Window, "state" )

Authorware:
State := baWindowInfo( Window, "state" )
 

Notes:

The "text" option can be used to retrieve the text in an edit control window.

When using the "rel left" and "rel top" options, if the window is a child of another window, then the values returned will be relative to the parent window. If the window does not have a parent window, then the returns will be relative to the screen.
