Version

Description:

baVersion returns a string containing version information.

Platforms:

Windows and Macintosh

Usage:

Result = baVersion( VersionType )

Arguments:

String.
VersionType is the type of version you are interested in.
Can be one of the following:

"os" 

the current operating system Windows Macintosh

"windows" 

Windows version Windows

"nt" 

version of Windows NT Windows

"dos" 

DOS version Windows

"build" 

the Windows build version Windows

"service pack" 

the service pack installed Windows

"sp string" 

returns the service pack as a string

"nt type" 

the NT product type Windows

"64Bit" 

returns true if running on 64 bit Windows Windows

"Wow64" 

returns true if running under Wow64 Windows

"vfw" 

Video for Windows version Windows

"qt" 

QuickTime 2 and earlier versions Windows Macintosh

"qt3" 

QuickTime 3 and later versions Windows Macintosh

"mac" 

Macintosh version Macintosh

"classic" 

returns true if running in classic mode under OSX Macintosh

Returns:

Returns the version information requested.

Notes:

Possible returns for baVersion( "os" ) are "Win95", "Win98", "WinME", "WinNT", "Win2000", "WinXP", "WinVista", "Mac9", "Mac10".

On Windows, Apple made considerable changes to QuickTime between versions 2 and 3, and both may coexist on the same system. "qt" will report the version of QuickTime prior to version 3, "qt3" will report any version 3 or later. On Macintosh, only one version of QuickTime can be installed at once and "qt" will return the version of any QuickTime installed.
