HfsName

Description:

baHfsName returns a file name in HFS format.

Platforms:

Macintosh

Usage:

Result = baHfsName( File )

Arguments:

String.
The file name to convert in Unix format.

Returns:

String.
The converted name, or an empty string if the file doesn’t exist.

Examples:

Director:
hfs = baHfsName( “/Volumes/Mac HD/Data/products.pdf” )

Authorware:
hfs := baHfsName( “/Volumes/Mac HD/Data/products.pdf” )
 

Notes:

The file does not have to exist for this function to work. The name returned may not be a valid HFS name - it may contain Unicode characters or be longer than 31 characters. To ensure a valid HFS name, use baShortFilename.
