After registering Buddy API, ShareIt will display your registration code on the
confirmation page, and also send you your code by email. Normally, this will
happen immediately, but in some rare cases, something in the transaction may
trigger ShareIt's fraud detection routine and your code will not be
delivered until ShareIt manually processes the transaction.
Note that Buddy File and Buddy Menu do not require a registration code to
operate - you can just download and use the xtras as is.
For Windows, version 3.x supports all Windows versions from 95 to Vista.
Version4 drops support for the 95/98/ME platforms, and is supported only on
2000, XP and Vista.
For Macintosh, version 1.x supports all versions from OS9. Version 4
requires at least 10.4.
There are 2 methods of registration. You can call baRegister with your
registration details before you call any other Buddy functions. Or you can
use the Xtra Registration Utility available from the
Download page to convert the Unregistered version into a registered one
you can distribute.
In Version 4, you need to register both the Windows and Macintosh versions
of the xtra; in previous versions only the Windows version needed
registration. Both platforms use the same registration number. The Xtra
Registration Utility is available for both Windows and Macintosh and they
can both register the the other platform.
Yes it is. If you have purchased Version 4 and require a version 3
registration code - to support Windows 98, for example - please get in
touch.
Each copy of the xtra can only be registered once - if you attempt to
register a copy that has already been registered, it will fail. Make sure
that you are using the right registration code on the right version - a
version 4 code will only register version 4 of the xtra. Make sure that
Director is not running while you register, Director may have the xtra open
and it can not be modified.
Make sure that you have registered the correct copy of the xtra. If you are
embedding the xtra in the projector, make sure that you have registered the
copy in Director's xtras folder. If you are using a separate xtras folder,
make sure you have registered the copy in the xtras folder. If you are
making a cross platform projector, make sure that you have registered the
copy in the Xtras folder in Director's Cross Platform Resources folder.
Making cross platform projectors can be a tricky business, details are
located here.
